Regional Sessions: Best Practices in Aboriginal Partnerships and Procurement Developement

ICAB hosts Regional Forums that bring Aboriginal communities/entrepreneurs and Non-Aboriginal industry/business together to showcase best practices in procurement and partnership development. The intent is to give an opportunity to discuss challenges and successes in partnership as well as business development and showcase their accomplishments.

In addition, to being promoted as a best practice at these regional Sessions and with approval, the presentations will be posted on our website.

The next regional session will be held in Fort St. John in the spring of 2012 (stay posted for details)

Breakfast Meetings

Centred on guest speaker presentations of experiences in developing on Aboriginal/non-Aboriginal partnership, the breakfast meetings offer insight into the challenges, benefits and complex dynamics of creating economic-based ‘common ground’. The breakfast meetings provide opportunities for business and community leaders to meet and exchange ideas about developing mutually-beneficial partnerships.

On Common Ground Gathering

“On common Ground Gathering” celebrates local Aboriginal culture and economic development achievements. Panel presentations on various partnership development themes which may include promising practices, challenges and benefits, risk aversion, community and corporate partnership capacity development, legal framework, and management structures, etc. are the foundation for small group breakout sessions where participants engage in learning and sharing opportunities related to specific topics of interest.
